We first used Burleigh Constructions to renovate our investment unit. Dave and the team were professional, polite, clean and much proved to be excellent in their trade. So when it came to renovating our family home there was no question that Dave and the team at Burleigh Constructions had the experience, motivation and enthusiasm to do it.
Using a local independently owned company instead of a large well known building company was the best thing we could have done. Dave was always in contact with us, the boys on site were always polite and welcoming. The team were always available to answer any questions and also give advice when needed as well as a good laugh. My wife and I engaged Burleigh Constructions to renovate our home in early 2015. David and his team had completed a deck and pool fence for us the previous year and the quality was outstanding. Based on our experience with David, it was a simple decision to engage him and his team to carry out our renovation project.
David was involved from the initial design phase, providing expert insight into what was achievable and practical whilst giving an honest account of likely costs. This was hugely beneficial when setting our budget and deciding on what we could realistically do with our money.
The Burleigh Constructions team were extremely professional and courteous throughout the project and their workmanship is second to none in the industry. David developed a build schedule which was followed to the tee, and his excellent relationships with both suppliers and sub-contractors ensured there was very little lost time on the project.

Owner/director David Brazenall and his team worked on the renovation of our house in 2013. I can commend Burleigh Constructions highly and without hesitation.
Throughout the course of the renovation, David and his team were the ultimate skilled professionals. He was accurate in his initial assessment of the scale and cost of our project and absolutely clear with his record keeping and time register.
Our job was done with care and precision and the craftsmanship was fantastic.
In addition, his team is extremely clean, polite and tidy. Both Dave and his team never left the worksite in disarray; they always cleaned up at the end of the day. I had young children around but was never concerned with bad language or behaviour.
In conclusion I have no hesitation in recommending Dave and his team.
When we decided to do a major renovation to our 36 year old house we contacted four builders. The first didn’t bother to return a call left at their office. The second came and looked at the house quoted a number then and there and we didn’t hear from him again. The third said it was too hard to quote but was prepared to do the job on a cost plus basis without giving a price.
David from Burleigh Constructions was the only builder we contacted prepared to sit down and talk about the job. He recommended professional people to get the job drawn up, engineered and certified. He then prepared a detailed estimate. It took four attempts with many changes to arrive at an estimate and scope of works we were both happy with. David was very helpful in this process.
The renovation required us to leave the house for three months. We moved interstate with relatives. During this time we were kept up to date with calls and pictures. I returned twice to inspect the progress and answer questions. The work was completed on time and turned out fantastic. The confidence we built with David in the estimating stage gave us the peace of mind to be away while the build was in progress until completion. We were not disappointed.
David’s workers were all very professional and courteous. Our neighbours commented on what good workers they were, and that they had no concerns or problems throughout the build.
David made us feel comfortable with the whole process from the first phone call to the handover. He is an honest and hardworking man with a great team of workers. We would recommend his services to anyone think of getting building work done.
We commenced discussions with David in the middle of August last year having previously completed design work with Stuart Osman Building Designs.
David produced a budget price for us and followed this with various cost updates that encompassed our various changes while he proposed alternative options to meet our financial targets. David’s patience, skills and open and honest approach made a difficult task easy for both Helen and I. In the end the meetings of minds resulted in signing a contract within two weeks of commencement of discussions.
Early September saw a start to the onsite works with a target completion date of Mid November. Along the way we had many good and not so good ideas and David was very skilled at pointing us in the right direction so that the work continued on track while both value and a special touch was continuously added to our home. David’s team of trades demonstrated dedication, and patience with our many demands and kept progress while we tested them at all times.
In the end our home was completed to an excellent standard of workmanship, within our time expectations, and to our original cost plus agreed variations. We have now settled in and are enjoying all of the aspects of this fantastic home.
